Instructor Requests

SoccerTots and SoccerZone – Cedar Park understands that once your child finds an instructor that he/she likes and is comfortable with, you may want to continue with that instructor.  We will try our best to accommodate your request; however it is NOT A GUARANTEE.  We insure you the parent that all of our teachers are excellent and bring each of their personalities to their class.  Furthermore, we feel that it may benefit your child to take classes from a variety of instructors.

Instructor Absences

At times an instructor may be unavoidably absent, sometimes, and this cannot be helped.  If this should happen we will provide your child’s class with a extremely competent substitute.  In the EXTREME case where we cannot find a substitute, we (SoccerTots – Cedar Park) will arrange a make – up class, or issue a voucher worth a free class during the next session.

Parents Role

Our classes and curriculum are aged based; therefore there will be differences in the progress of your child versus other children.  DO NOT COMPARE.  Just as some children walk earlier than others, and talk earlier than others, they will progress in SoccerTots at their own pace.  Always let your child know that you are proud of him/her. Praising the smallest accomplishments goes along way with children at this age.  The SoccerTots curriculum is pull based, we do not push any child into participating.  We feel its best that each child participates with the activities and games that they are comfortable with, instead of pushing them into an uncomfortable situation.

Babies

They are welcome to observe in a class if they have a sibling in the parent participation classes (Teddies and Teddies 2).  However, for safety issues we cannot allow your younger children to walk or crawl around the field.  Please have a stroller to put your child in or plan on carrying him/her.

Older Siblings

They are welcome to watch, but may only participate as a “helper” to the instructor and not as a participant.  We can only have one “helper” per child. (Parent)  This is to prevent injury to other children.  If the older children become a distraction, they will be asked to leave the field.

The Crying Child

Children cry for many, many reasons. Separation from parents, afraid of new surroundings, hungry, or tired.  Each reason will go away with time and positive reinforcement, except for the hungry or tired child.  Therefore please do not pick times that conflict with your child’s nap time or lunch time.  Every instructor can share stories with you about the shy, crying, or reluctant child that ended up loving SoccerTots.  Please remember it is much harder on you (the parent) than it is the child that is fussing or crying or the instructor.  However, if you see that your child is truly upset or crying non-stop, please feel free to come into the field and join them as long as you feel it to be necessary.

General Rules

(1) Your child’s instructor will take role out on the field each week. If you are a tryout please check – in with the office to assure that your child’s name is on the list.  We do not want to leave any child off when we call role.

(2) ATTIRE: We require sneakers or tennis shoes, shorts and T-shirts.  Please NO sandals or dress shoes.

(3) Parent participation classes – Please only one parent per child on the playing field.  This allows for more focus and attention on the activities.  The last class of each session is parent participation for all classes, so you are more than welcome to have both parents’ out there.

(4) Absolutely no food, drinks, or gum during classes.

(5) Potty: Please have your child use the bathroom before classes.  We will have a water/potty break, but it is distracting if each child needs to go at different times throughout the class.

(6) Safety: SoccerTots and SoccerZone – Cedar Park strive to provide the utmost in safety and security for all of our children.  Should you have ANY concern of any kind, please talk immediately to the Coach of the class, or if necessary to the Director of SoccerTots.
